Report of findings
This idea, would in my opinion take RM to a new level.
When going to the print report screen have an option to print a report of findings (ROF)
I think it would take RM to another level of usefulness and would be an incredible tool for pt compliance. DCs that do well verses other that have a hardtime with compliance usually have a good ROF on the second visit. And having one that is in report type format that we can go through with the pt can be very powerful. And it would answer pt questions, ones that left unanswered causes them to dismiss themselves from care before results are attained leaving the DC with people not complying or referring. This is so important for a practice.
It would be an option on the print screen and would take the pts report and explain it in layman’s terms the cause the pts problems and how it is treated. Certain area could be tailord like with auto codes for treatment modes specfic for that doctor.
It could have the treatment plan, goals and home instructions, and even area specific exercises printed that the Dr. selects (quite a simple add on)
You could tailor it by clicking the areas of concern and diagnosis and a preset simple explanation for these would show up.
So if you tell the pt they have a subluxtion it would explain what a sublux is and how it is treated. But it would be in simple laymens terms to educate the pt. It could do the same for ddd, sprain/strain, scoliosis or any condition the pt has. If a pt showed muscle weakness it would explain what causes this. It may begin with a simple explaination of the spinal anatomy.
It could include things like range of motion, outcome assessment information, and other measurable info. After a set treatment plan another print out (Interim or Final ROF) would compare these and show the changes attained (hopefully positive) which can motivate patients to continue care, refer others, or just “see” that they got something for their money. Showing results is a powerful tool.
As far as exercises and home care (patients love this stuff). If the pt had a lumbar issue the Doc could “click” certain core exercises that he want the patient to do with goals and it would be printed out with the ROF or separately if needed.
To make it professional you could use pie graph for ROM showing theirs compared to normal, graphs for outcome assessments (SF 36 would be a good general one for all pts.
This ROF could be preinted out for any pt, and gone over before a treament plan.
This would actually be an easy addition IMO, and would help explain it with an example report if you like.
I know this is a good idea, and would be a great help in pt compliance and make an office look very professional.

I'm glad to see someone else has thought of this. It would be great to be able to use all of the information that you just input into the system to generate something that you can hand a patient about their case...ie, something in writing; it make's it more real for the patient, and psychologically compels them to comply with your recommendations.
I had originally thought of having the system just print up basic pieces of the report such as treatment plan (modalities, frequency of visits, goals, etc), and hit the highlights of what's wrong with them; but somehow being able to convert the info into a more patient-friendly report would be awesome!

A fantastic idea. All of the information is in the database. It would save the doctors alot of time as they wouldn't have to hand-write ROF's. If not as described by the author of this suggestion, at least allow us to export this information to a text or word file and let us customize the data.
